I hope to God Apple does something about this microphone issue as I'm probably gonna have to update to 10.4.8 pretty soon. Only problem now is that since I dont have 10.4.8 I cant run the recent firmware update so run the risk of RSS!. I tested this by recording my normal speaking voice in iMovie using the isight camera before and after the update with the mic input level slider set to near maximum in both cases. Keeping security concerns at the top of the list, it has Annoyance Blocking, and phishing. It is a secure browser with customizable controls for blocking pop ups.

I've just did a complete erase and install (about a 2 1/2 hour job) on my MacBook and am now running 10.4.6 again and just want to report that the microphone level is almost twice the volume of that in 10.4.8. I haven't had the chance to test it yet myself (audio chats in the household are frowned upon during the early morning hours when I'm working on hints!), but will do so later today. It seems this is definitely Intel-only it's nowhere to be seen on either my G5 or older 12" PowerBook G4.

Out of the blue, my trusty MacBook Pro sounded a lot less sweet. Apple MacBook Pro 13 Retina i5-1, 4GHz, 8GB, 128GB. Recording every live show of hi-res audio hardware in display ghosting. With this option enabled the sound seems to be a bit "softer" but more pleasant to listen to. The second issue surrounding the 16-inch MacBook Pro is display ghosting. Daniel tested iChat with and without the ambient noise reduction enabled, and wrote: Without this option the voice was clear but there was also a lot of noise from the MBPs fans and some static to hear. Audio chats (in iChat or Skype) seem like an obvious beneficiary, as but one example. It should make a difference in any app in which you use the microphone, making your voice clearer while diminishing unwanted noises. However, chrome just does so much more.It appears that the ambient noise reduction feature is designed to remove the background noise that the microphone would otherwise pick up. Suffice to say Safari gets the job done, and very quickly, for the average user. There's more for sure, I don't have my laptop on me. Chrome comes built in with adobe flash, so if chrome updates, then flash also updates. This also extends to basically custom searching any website.
When downloading, make sure you get the right version. It adds PowerPC-specific improvements and restores the glue necessary to get most of modern Firefox’s advanced features working on older computers (going back to PowerMac G3 even). There are some pretty cool scripts out there to do some really cool things. TenFourFox : This browser uses the code from FireFox and is tuned for 10.4 (and compatible with 10.5). Handoff bridges that gap on iOS so it's not that big of a deal.

This is mainly because I'm an android user, but notification mirroring and the easy transfer of files, links, and text is really nice. I much prefer the chrome webapp compared to loading up gmail every time. I can only say from own experience, but there's quite a few extensions and features of chrome that I use.
